현금현금(現今玄琴)은 지금 현재의 거문고를 연주한다는 뜻이다. ‘현금현금 - 김화복거문고산조’는 김화복의 첫 번째 앨범으로, 그가 그동안 갈고 닦은 한국전통음악을 기반으로 산조의 근본인 즉흥성을 최대한 살리고 현대적인 감성으로 현금현금의 산조를 구성하였다. 거문고를 중심으로 가야금 · 피리 · 타악기와 협업하여 각 악기 고유의 음색을 살려 조화롭고 다양한 매력을 연출하였다. 또한 정형화된 산조장단 · 리듬 · 순서 등에 얽매이지 않으며 자유롭고 즉흥적인 작업을 통해 현장성을 살리고자 하였다. 

<Album Description>

Hyeon-geum hyeon-geum, a term designed by Hwabok Kim, refers to the current performance of the gomeungo. “Hyeon-geum Hyeon-geum - Kim, Hwabok's Gomeungo Sanjo” is Kim’s first album. In it, she has created the ‘Hyeon-geum Hyeon-geum Sanjo’ combining modern sentiment with improvisation and the traditional elements of sanjo that she has mastered in her musical endeavors. The arrangement between the gomeungo (six-string zither), gayageum (twelve-string zither), piri (double reed bamboo flute), and percussion harmoniously highlights unique timbres of each instrument. The music departs from the standardized sanjo jangdan and its order, and is created out of improvisatory practice.
